FRANKFORT, Ky. — Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will join local golfers for the 20th annual Roy Strange Memorial 4-H Golf Scramble on Monday at the Nevel Meade Golf Course in Prospect.

“Kentucky 4-H involves more than 200,000 Kentucky youth in wholesome, constructive activities,” Commissioner Comer said. “I am happy to give my time and money to this worthy cause.”

Commissioner Comer will speak to the other participants about the importance of 4-H and the voluntary donation farmers can make when they renew their farm license plates. Commissioner Comer announced earlier this year that proceeds from the voluntary donations would be divided equally among Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and Kentucky Proud.

Registration is at 7 a.m. EDT with tee time at 8. Jefferson County 4-H will host the tournament.

Some 205,000 youths are involved in Kentucky 4-H programs, and Kentucky ranks in the top 10 in several 4-H enrollment categories nationwide. 4-H is found in every Kentucky county and is a community of more than 6 million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
