Comer to participate in groundbreaking for pavilion at Elliott County Fairgrounds

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will join local and state officials to break ground for a new pavilion at the Elliott County Fairgrounds June 22 at 11 a.m. EDT.

“This facility will serve the citizens of Elliott County for years to come,” Commissioner Comer said. “I am pleased that the Kentucky Department of Agriculture is providing funding toward construction of the pavilion, and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the groundbreaking.”

The 48X72 structure will house shows and exhibits during the Elliott County Fair. It will provide members of the Elliott County 4-H Livestock Club a place to work on projects. It also will be available for after-school programs, community activities, field days, safety days, and other events.

The department provides support for more than 100 local agricultural fairs in Kentucky as well as district, state, and national livestock shows and sales.
