FRANKFORT, Ky. — The deadline to apply for grants to help low-income Kentuckians spay and neuter their pets is two weeks away, the Kentucky Animal Control Advisory Board has announced.

Grant applications must be postmarked by July 15. Local governments and non-governmental organizations that apply must mail applications and attachments to: Spay/Neuter Kentucky Program, Kentucky Department of Agriculture, 500 Mero St., Frankfort, KY 40601. Applications that are late or incomplete will not be considered.

Applicants may request up to $5,000. The board has set aside a total of $150,000 for the current round of grants. The funds are generated by proceeds from the sale of Kentucky’s spay/neuter specialty license plate.
