Comer to visit 120th Kentucky county

FRANKFORT, Ky. – On December 17, Agriculture Commissioner James Comer will fulfill his promise to take agriculture to every county in Kentucky. His 120th county visit will take place in Martin County, where he will join business owners, community leaders, local elected officials, and the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce in a discussion about agriculture’s role in rural economic development.

“When I first took office, one of the biggest complaints I heard from farmers was that the Commissioner of Agriculture had never visited their counties,” Commissioner Comer said. “I have benefited so much from listening to the concerns of our farmers and seeing the challenges we face, and we are now better equipped to effectively serve our agriculture community.”

In addition to discussing rural economic development, Commissioner Comer will detail the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s accomplishments in his first year in office.

Commissioner Comer is scheduled to arrive at noon at Miss Ida’s Tea Room, 1432 Main Street in Inez. The event is open to the public, and anyone is welcome to attend.
