FRANKFORT, Ky. – Before 900 media and other guests from all over the world turn their cameras on the Biden-Ryan showdown at Centre College, they will be treated to a full-on Kentucky Proud experience.
"The entire world will be tuned into Danville, Kentucky for the vice presidential debate, and Kentucky agriculture will be front and center," said Agriculture Commissioner James Comer. "We'll be showcasing Hot Browns to bourbon … and I predict the Kentucky Proud food and drink will be as memorable as the politics."
Kentucky Proud is one of several sponsors of the Governor's Media Reception, which will be held at the Norton Center on the Centre College campus at 7 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Oct. 10, the night before the debate. In addition to showcasing Kentucky-produced cheeses, seasonal vegetables, chicken, Ale-8-1 drinks, and desserts made with Weisenberger Mill flour, Kentucky Proud will feature the story of agriculture on the VP debate website, www.vpdebateky.com.
"This is a huge opportunity for us to place Kentucky agriculture on an international stage," Comer said. "All of Kentucky knows the value of this brand … and now, so will the rest of the world."
