LEXINGTON, Ky. — Visitors can see two Food Network stars in action, watch cooking demonstrations, and sample products from more than 100 exhibitors at the fifth annual Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show Saturday at the Lexington Center.
“I encourage Kentuckians to come out and support these exhibitors, many of which will be Kentucky Proud vendors,” Agriculture Commissioner James Comer said. “The Incredible Food Show is a must-see for anyone interested in food, whether it be cooking or eating.”
From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EDT, exhibitors will offer samples of their products, which include local foods and wines, as well as dishes made by local restaurants and caterers. Homemade kitchen accessories will be sold, cooking demonstrations will be given every hour, and culinary seminars and workshops will be offered.
“The show provides the public a chance to watch cooking demos by local and celebrity chefs, sample and buy local products, and support our local economy, all in one day,” said Alisha Morris, who oversees domestic trade shows for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Office of Agricultural Marketing and Product Promotion.
Kentucky Department of Agriculture employees will hand out samples of the new Udderly Kentucky milk at the KDA booth. The Kentucky Proud brand is produced by 105 Kentucky dairy farm families and processed in Somerset.
Food Network celebrity chefs Bobby and Jamie Deen will give cooking presentations at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Rupp Arena. Their TV show, “Road Tasted,” followed the Deen brothers as they traveled the nation in search of unique food. They have published four books and market a line of spices, barbecue sauces, and T-shirts.
Saturday’s festivities will kick off with a Kentucky Proud Breakfast for the first 300 paid attendees. Sullivan University chefs will use fresh, locally-grown ingredients provided by Kentucky Proud members.
Tickets are on sale at the Lexington Center ticket office, www.Ticketmaster.com, and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $40 for a reserved seat at one of the Deen brothers’ presentations. Children ages 12 and under will be admitted free.
