“This funding will enable citizens to care for their pets while addressing a public health and safety issue,” Agriculture Commissioner James Comer said. “We’re pleased that we can help fiscal courts and 501(c)(3) organizations provide this important service.”

Applicants may request up to $2,500. Applicants must submit information about their operation and describe the spay/neuter programs that will utilize the funding.

Completed applications sent to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture via email must be submitted by midnight July 15. Mailed applications must be postmarked no later than July 15.

The Kentucky Animal Control Advisory Board is administered by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. The spay/neuter program is funded by sales of Kentucky’s spay/neuter license plate. The board also accepts donations to the program.
