Agriculture Commissioner Asks Kentuckians to Consider Food Bank Donation

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles released the following statement today:

“The people of Kentucky stand with those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Even though land separates us, we are one people. When I started the Kentucky Hunger Initiative to identify solutions for food banks in our state, we learned a lot about the specific needs facing Kentucky. However, we know hunger is not limited by geographical boundaries. Food banks in Houston are working hard to feed hungry people during this time of crisis.

“As a farm kid, I know something about helping out neighbors in need. Today, Houston needs us. I am asking Kentuckians to consider making a monetary donation to a Houston food bank to help with relief efforts. You can donate to the Houston Food Bank network by going to houstonfoodbank.org/donate.”
