KBVE Site Provides Full Lineup of Services for Stakeholders

 

FRANKFORT (March 4, 2019) — The new Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners (KBVE) website provides vital information and services to Kentucky veterinarians, veterinary technicians, animal owners, and citizens with just a few clicks. The website address is kybve.com.

“We are proud to provide a modern, user-friendly website for anyone who might have an interest in the work of the KBVE,” board chair Dr. Steven Wills said. “The new website will make it easier for practitioners and other stakeholders to find the information they need.”

 

The new KBVE website was launched in February. The new site is viewable on all modern web browsers and responsive to mobile devices.

 

The features on the new website include:
• A clear overview of prerequisites for licensure;
• For licensees, quick links to the state Public Protection Cabinet’s eServices Portal for renewals, printing licenses, and updating personal information;
• #TrendingTopics in veterinary medicine on the Board Briefings page;
• A handy FAQ page, answering many common questions online without having to call or email the board’s office;
• Easy online License Verification and Veterinarian Locator; and
• An archive of minutes from the previous board meeting, with more historical documents to come.

 

Additional improvements, including fillable PDF forms and more online payment options, are planned for the future.

The mission of the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners is to protect the citizens of the Commonwealth from being misled by incompetent, unscrupulous, and unauthorized practitioners, and to protect the Commonwealth’s citizens and animals from unprofessional or illegal practices by those persons who are licensed to practice veterinary medicine in this jurisdiction and those persons who practice without a license. The KBVE was transferred to the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for administrative purposes last summer, and Michelle Shane was named executive director.
