About us

We began our herd in 2003 with 5 doelings, two bottle kids and one 100% SA Fullblood Buck. In February, 2004 we purchased a 70-head herd of bred does. We have been kidding steadily since then, with over 50 kids currently on the ground. We have been blessed with a good doe crop this year and we will offer many kids and adults for sale.

Here at Summer Shade Farms we strive to raise all our animals as naturally as possible and will be applying for Organic Certification. We have over 50 acres of pastures and woods for our animals use, allowing them plenty of room to eat, drink and be merry! We try to maintain our goat's health without the use of antibiotics and our goal for the future is to mainly use herbal and homeopathic remedies for any illness which might arise.
