The 1940 Kentucky General Assembly passed KRS Chapter 262 which permitted local farmers to establish Conservation Districts. The Fayette County Conservation District was duly organized as a legal subdivision of State Government on August 5,1946. Today, the Fayette County Conservation District serves the urban, as well as, the rural community.
The Fayette County Conservation District is housed with the Fayette County NRCS.
