It all began in the kitchen of her Mt. Sterling, KY home, where Ruth Tharpe Hunt served homemade sweets to her bridge club. In 1921 she decided to start a small candy business. Today still located in Mt. Sterling, Ruth Hunt Candies remains a Kentucky landmark. From Cinnamon suckers being formed on huge old marble slabs, to caramels stirred in spun copper kettles, our factory is flavored with sights and smells of good old fashioned homemade candy. Throughout these 88 years a strict adherence to quality has been observed. Candy makers use only the finest of ingredients, and NO waxes are added to our chocolate!
